Peony Place

Attend this class on our new peony farm to learn how wonderful it is to grow your own peonies!
Learn to divide or move a peony plant. We will teach the best growing conditions, companion plants for peonies, ideal weed control, when or how to protect them from the weather, what are the different varieties of peonies and how to cut the stems at the right time for the best vase life! Get a tour of our new little “Budding” farm.
Every attendee receives a large beautiful peony root that you can’t buy at a box store or even online. In other classes, you have planted your own bulbs and seeds and taken them home. At this class, we will plant a few peonies on the farm so you can see how to duplicate it at home. We will also move and divide one of the old peonies on our property that isn’t planted in a great place, so you can see how to do this on your own property.
Bring your own garden trowel or spade and garden gloves.
Our farm is currently being rented, so there is no restroom available. However, Locke’s Store is right down the road 1 mile. Every attendee will get a gift card for a free Locke’s Store coffee. Grab a coffee there and they have a lovely facility you can use!
It’s spring and the class is outdoors. Dress accordingly! If weather prohibits the class from happening, we can transfer your ticket to another class day within two weeks of this class.
Every student receives a large peony root with 5-8 eyes.
